These plaques, located on the landing outside Puke Ariki, were unveiled on 9 August 2008 for the 150th anniversary of the Wellington West Coast & Taranaki Regiment. In front of a large crowd, New Plymouth District Council CEO, Barbara McKerrow, granted the Regiment the freedom to march through the city, swords drawn and bayonets fixed, whenever they wanted to. They detail the Regiment's battle honours, countries of service and family tree.
