This bathing shed in Pukekura Park, thought to be at least 80 years old, was demolished in March 1969. Originally built on the edge of the main lake, it was moved in 1931 to stand on the path leading from the tea house up to the fernery. The shed was often used for storage over the years, but cleared whenever swimming in the lake increased, such as during the summer season of 1921-1922.
