The stone abutments of the Waipuku Rail Bridge, located on Highway 3 at Waipuku in Tariki, were constructed in 1879 during the laying of the New Plymouth-Marton rail line. Concrete additions were made in 1911.
The contractor was D. Glendinning who also built the rail bridges on the Mangamawhete, Manganui and Waipuku-iti Streams (Taranaki Herald 25 Jan 1879).
The bridge has a New Zealand Historic Places Trust Category 2 classification and was added to New Plymouth District Council's list of protected heritage structures in the 2025 District Plan.
