A permit was granted to Jones and Sandford in September 1924 for the construction of a building on Part Town Section 122, St Aubyn and Dawson Streets - Jones and Sandford were also the builders, and the estimated construction cost was £650. This permit most likely relates to the two-storied section of the building currently at 141-143 St Aubyn Street.

For a number of years the building has been occupied by fast food outlets such as 'Hong Kong Fast Food' and earlier, the 'Roast House'.
