The house originally at this site was constructed for Francis Edward McEwan in 1920.
On the 25th of June 1920, a permit was granted to F. E. McEwan by the New Plymouth Borough Council for the construction of a house on Lot 10, Victoria Road [Carrington Street] - the contractor was G. W. Brown, and the estimated construction cost was £795.
By 2024 this home and been removed or demolished and replaced with a new townhouse.
