A permit was granted to T. Bransgrove in October 1924 for the construction of a building on Part Town Section 1418, Devon Street East - Bransgrove was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £800.
Town Section 1418 was purchased by the well-known businessman Chew Chong in 1883. The section was subdivided in 1922 after the death of Chew Chong, and the western section was sold to Thomas Bransgrove.
