A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Miss C. M. Preston on 15 December 1931 for the construction of a residence on Section S, Gaine Street - R. Lovell was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £720.
The original building is the rear section - the front section with garage is a recent addition.
