A permit was granted by the Borough Council to W. W. Thomson on 15 April 1925 for the construction of business premises on Section 76, Breakwater Road – G. S. Burton was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £490.
Another permit was granted by the Borough Council to W. W. Thomson on 16 November 1925 for the construction of business premises on Section 76, Breakwater Road – G. S. Burton was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £385.
This wooden building is probably the oldest shop in the Moturoa shopping centre.
