A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Leveson Sutton on 5 December 1928 for the construction of a house on Section 866, Pioneer Road – Leveson was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £400.
Sutton also constructed neighbouring 75 Pioneer Road. He lived at 73 Pioneer Road until his death on 22 May 1954, and is buried in Te Henui Cemetery.
