Two permits were granted for the construction of homes on Town Section 191 in 1931 - whilst these permits relate to the construction of 8 and 10 Aubrey Street, it is currently unclear which permit relates to what home.
Permit One: A permit was granted by the Borough Council to T. Bransgrove on 12 March 1931 for the construction of a house on Part Town Section 191, Aubrey Street - R. W. Uncles was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £330.
Permit Two: A permit was granted by the Borough Council to T. Bransgrove on 9 April 1931 for the construction of a house on Part Town Section 191, Aubrey Street - J. Gifford was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £350.
Skinner's 1880 plan of New Plymouth shows four buildings of a similar size across the front of Town Sections 191 and 192.
