William Newton Stephenson designed neighbouring 7 Hempton Street and 85 Brougham Street, and is the presumed architect for this house.
One of four neighbouring homes constructed by Amoore on Town Sections 763 and 764 in 1923-24: 83 Brougham St, 85 Brougham St, 7 Hempton Street, 9 Hempton St.
