Cleland Residence, 480 Devon Street East (1953-54)

This home was designed and constructed by its original owner M. Cleland in 1953-54. 

A permit for a home at 480 Devon Street East was granted to M. Cleland by the NPCC in July 1953 - the estimated construction cost was £2000, with the NPCC permit register noting that the home was occupied on 18 October 1954.

The exterior is in largely original condition, and it is probably one of the earliest examples of this style of home in New Plymouth.
