This bungalow was constructed as an investment property for Adam Reid Sergeant in 1923.

On the 9th of July 1923, a permit was granted by the New Plymouth Borough Council for the construction of a house on Town Section 1616, Gover Street - F. Trevorrow was the builder, the estimated construction cost was £600.

The house was sold to Mrs C. B. Davies in December 1924, and she appears to have lived there until December 1927, when the property was purchased by Robert Dunn. The house would remain in the Dunn family for several decades.
