This bungalow was constructed for John Green in 1925. The house was designed by noted New Plymouth architects Messenger, Griffiths & Taylor, who advertised for tenders for its construction in early August 1925.

A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Mr Green on 7 October 1925 for the construction of a house on Section 37, Belt Road (now Sanders Avenue) - Lovell & Rawlinson were the builders, and the estimated construction cost was £1250.
