A building permit was issued on 13 June 1921 to Mr Stephen Hooper for the construction of a residence in Robe Street at an estimated cost of £1,450.
Plans held by NPDC indicate this was a single level dwelling designed by Messenger, Griffiths and Taylor.
Mr Hooper died in 1930, aged 89.
A permit was granted to his wife Ellie on 24 February 1931 for additions and alterations to the Robe Street house at an estimated cost of £600. Plans for this, adding the second storey, were drawn by Boon Bros. and again are held in NPDC files.
The house was demolished on 9 February 2012 to make way for construction of the new police station.
Demolition was complete by the following day.
