This large two-storied stucco home was constructed for New Plymouth car dealer Henrik Hansen Moller in the early 1940s. A building permit was issued to H.H.Moller on 8 October 1941 for a residence on Lot 3 of DP5671. Robert Hoyle appears to be the architect and builder for the home, with a copy of the original plans held by NPDC. The estimated cost was £2,000.

It is important as one of only a few large New Plymouth homes constructed in the early 1940s.
