A58_751.jpg Poster, "Yo Ho A Shipload of Dental Health" (about 1950s). Collection of Puke Ariki (A58.751).

Since 1921 dental health education has been part of the brief for school dental nurses operating through the New Zealand Dental Service. Through the 1950s and 1960s the New Zealand Department of Health issued a series of posters promoting the importance of a good diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, plenty of milk and twice daily brushing of teeth.
