Whilst the exact construction date is unknown, this home was probably constructed in the late 1890s or early 1900s - it was occupied by members of the Rowe family around this time.

Mary Elizabeth Rowe purchased Section 58, Urenui Township, in November 1895 - a further mortgage was taken against the property in 1897. Mary sold the home to A. D. McDonald in October 1904.
