The Ōkato War Memorial, located on the corner of Carthew Street and South Road, was unveiled on Sunday 12 November 1922 and lists 16 men who died in the First World War.

Seven more names were added after the Second World War, unveiled on 11 April 1948. and a lower panel was unveiled on 11 November 1999.
