The Stratford Cross of Sacrifice is located outside the War Memorial Centre on Miranda Street. The Centre, originally named the Stratford War Memorial Hall, was opened on 24 April 1955 and the cross was later constructed outside by the Stratford and District Returned Services Association. It was dedicated at 10.30am on Sunday 10 November 1957 and formally handed over to the citizens of the town by the RSA.

The red granite cross features an inset of a bronze sword and a plaque on the face of a concrete pedestal with the following inscription:

Cross of Sacrifice
In Remembrance of Those
Who Gave Their Lives
For Their Country
Donated to the Citizens of
Stratford by Members of
The Stratford and District Returned Services Association
Dedicated 10th November 1957
