Numbers 103, 105, and 107 Brooklands Road, were the first three state homes constructed in New Plymouth under the Labour Government's State Housing Scheme. These three homes are of immense local historical significance, being an important part of our architectural and social history.
The homes are located within an area containing a high number of 1930s-40s state homes - including some constructed in the Art-deco/Moderne, and Modernist styles.
