This building on the south-side of Devon Street East, near the Gover Street corner, was built in 1972-73 for Yiannett & Sons Ltd.

It was built by Riddick Bros. & Still and the structural engineers were the Christchurch firm, Schmidli & Penniger. The contract price was $66,427. (Source: Still Building: The Willie and Rosalie Still Story)

Two old wooden buildings were demolished to make way for the new shop and office block. The two shops can be seen in a photo above. The one on the left was the outlet for "Elna" sewing machines when it closed in 1972. The building on the right was a bakery for many years; from 1950 it traded as the "Savoy Bakery".
