This large two-storey home in the English Cottage Style was constructed in 1935 for Mr K. Kirk, the architects were well known local partnership Messenger and Taylor. 

A permit was granted by the Borough Council to K. Kirk on 27 February 1935 for the construction of a house on Lot 2, Part I Town Belt & Section 22, Wallace Place – R. Uncles was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £1156.

It is clad in plain weatherboard and retains a high degree of integrity - part of a cluster of homes in the English Cottage Style on Wallace Place and Barrett Street.
