Little is known about the history of this cottage, other than it is the only surviving of three almost identical cottages likely constructed in the late 1890s.
DP1659, surveyed in March 1900, clearly shows the three cottages on Town Sections 54 and 55 - the owner of all three cottages was Carl Sorensen, with this cottage occupied by Thomas Callaghan.
