A permit for the construction of a house on Town Section 763, Fulford Street (later Hempton Street), was granted by the New Plymouth Borough Council to Frank Amoore on 12 June 1923 - Amoore was also the builder/contractor, and the estimated construction cost was £1400.
A copy of the original plans is held by NPDC, and were prepared by New Plymouth architect William Newton Stephenson in May 1923.
One of four neighbouring homes constructed by Amoore on Town Sections 763 and 764 in 1923-24: 83 Brougham St, 85 Brougham St, 7 Hempton Street, 9 Hempton St.
