This villa was constructed in 1909 for timber firm Henry Brown & Co, who were located opposite the home on the NE corner of Hine and Morley Streets.
In June 1909 plans were deposited with the Borough Council for construction of "2 Residences" on Town Section 29, with an estimated cost of £575 - it is unclear if a second home was constructed, as neighbouring 10 Morley is thought to have been constructed in 1910, and 6 Morley Street some years later.
