A permit for the construction of a house on Town Section 1619, Pendarves Street, was granted to painter William Booth Taylor on the 25th of January 1925 - the contractors were Thomson & Morris, and the estimated construction cost was £800.
The house was purchased by George Samuel Clarke during the late 1920s, and it remained his home until his death on the 2nd of May 1971.
