St Philips Church Auckland Libraries St Philip's Church, Tariki (undated). James D. Richardson. Auckland Libraries Heritage Images Collection.

The foundation stone for this small Anglican church at Tariki was laid on 17 June 1897 by the Rev. F.G. Evans. Work on the church progressed quickly and it opened on Thursday 19 August 1897

In 1921 a war memorial was erected in the church grounds commemorating the local men who lost their lives in World War I.

The final service was held on 22 June 1969 and the church was demolished early in 1970. The declining number of parishioners could not justify the expense of restoring the church to a suitable standard.
