Reginald Robert Adams was born in New Plymouth on 17 November 1911 and married Ngaire Kathleen Dew in 1936. He was working as a motor mechanic in New Plymouth before being deployed overseas in 1943 as a Driver with the 2nd New Zealand Division.
Reginald and Ngaire had two daughters, Wilma, (later Lowe) and Margaret (later Reardon).
After returning from war Reginald lived in Pio Pio for a number of years. He died on 4 February, 1969 and is buried in the Te Kuiti Cemetery.
