These memorial baths at Ahititi School were officially opened on 12 March 1963. Fundraising for the pool had begun in 1956 when a stall at calf day raised £16.3s.6p. In 1961 the hole for the pool was dug out and it was reported that sufficient funds had been raised to meet Education Board requirements.
Late in 1962 plastering of the pool was completed, allowing for the opening of the pool early in 1963.
