These tablets and memorial gates were unveiled on Anzac Day 1951. at Midhirst Primary School on Erin Street. The left-hand plaque (1914-1918) was unveiled by Colonel T.L. Gibbs and the right-hand plaque (1939-1945) by Colonel T.T. Murray. 

The old gates were replaced by new ones with a metal cutout featuring a soldier and children made by Stratford blacksmith Joe Parkes around 2014.
